THE Mansfield Showgrounds was utilised as the perfect local venue for a Victoria Police training session involving the dog squad and the landing of a helicopter last month.
The Mansfield A&P Society was approached as police wanted a site away from the centre of town, with plenty of space on the oval to carry out the exercise.
"The day was a success, and we will likely be doing similar in the future which is a great outcome," according to Acting Sergeant Brad Mascoll and member of the Victoria Police Dog Squad.
Sgt Mascoll was most appreciative to the A&P Society for the use of the showgrounds.
