THE Myrtleford Lions Club is doubling down on its commitment to community health, bringing the Lions V District Cancer Foundation’s 'Skin Check and Awareness Unit' to the Myrtleford Community.
Updated details confirm the event will take place on February 15th and 16th, running from 9am to 3:30pm each day, at the Myrtleford Recreation Reserve.
The mobile unit, which features two fully equipped consultation rooms along with disability access, will offer free skin checks to locals.
With Australia facing one of the highest rates of skin cancer globally, this initiative is a vital opportunity for residents to prioritize their health.
To attend, you’ll need to secure an appointment.
A total of 51 slots will be available each day, resulting in 102 appointments across the two days.
The Myrtleford Lions Club will be managing the booking process and residents can book their spot by calling 0431 757 875 between 9am and 3:30pm from today through February 14th.
Your full name and contact information will be necessary when making your bookings.
Appointments are necessary, as walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
Each booking reserves a specific time with flexibility limited due to the high demand.
If unforeseen circumstances lead to a late arrival or no-show, a slot would be opened to others after a 10-minute grace period.
This life-saving initiative wouldn't be possible without strong community backing.
Significant thanks go to the Railway Motel and the Country Women’s Association for their generous support in making this event a reality.
“Events like these are all about the town coming together," Lions Club Secretary, Paul Tanner said.
"We’re thrilled to have local business support in creating meaningful opportunities for everyone in Myrtleford.”
Mark your calendar and act quickly to book.
With limited slots available, this is your chance to take proactive steps in safeguarding your skin health while supporting a cause that’s rooted in the heart of Myrtleford.
